The equipment will help my girls feel a little more powerful. They have never had top of the line equipment, nor have they ever had any coach that cared enough to explain WHY they should be using the best equipment. The girls have seen other teams who have the luxury of playing with the best equipment and can see how the little bit of extra pop a bat can have can change a ground out to a base hit or how a padded catcher's glove can protect a catcher's hand and allow them to catch without bruised palms and sprained fingers. Helmets that fit and do not leave scratches and keep them safe. They take good care of all the equipment they do have, and rewarding these girls with this gear will help them not only to value themselves as athletes, but feel confident in themselves for the work they have put in.
