Three sets of volleyballs (24) will help our coaches run effective and quality practices and drills with both our girls teams (3) and our boys teams (2). Players can practice with their respective teams (i.e. Fresh, JV & Varsity) and coaches can run separate practices, concurrently. Further, multiple volleyballs afford the coaches some multi-tasking such as individualizing instruction/training for players specific to their position. Setters can work on setting drills that strengthen their hands while the libero/defensive specialists can work on passing with control and accuracy for longer intervals. Your donation allows us to effectively engage our student-athletes, thereby, maximizing the time spent during practices and increasing the caliber of competitive play. The equipment is multi-purpose in function, both tangible and intangible. This investment in my student-athletes helps me, help them. More than a gesture of generosity, it demonstrates to my teens that they are valued and has a reciprocal effect on their ability to pay it forward someday. As an educator and a coach, it has always been my goal to develop scholars and competitors who are leaders in the classroom and on the court. This past season, I was informed by officials that the Net System needed to be replaced immediately; the damage meant it was not regulation and could possibly affect our ability to host games in the future. This would be a disservice to our student-athletes. Our players also do not have matching uniforms. While matching uniforms do not affect one's ability to play, it serves to empower their sense of being "one" with their team. Although, neither the above-ground net system or uniforms are in the cart, acquiring them would be greatly appreciated.
