I am looking forward to teaching my students about literacy, science, math, and engineering! With the materials I am requesting, my students will learn how to connect STEM goals to literacy. First, we will read about machines and how they function and work. Then we will use the new K'NEX we requested to create infrastructure inspired by the stories. The manipulative that I have requested - K'nex models -are crucial to get students excited about the sciences. I want my students to understand that, no matter where you come from, anything is possible. It will be a life-changing experience for all of my students. By participating in my classroom through this DonorsChoose project, you are helping my students connect science and engineering to literacy. You are giving them an opportunity to create new things with their hands and you are opening the doors of possibility to them! By supporting the materials needed, you are giving them a chance to overcome obstacles.
