Aquaponics is a method of farming that utilizes both aquaculture and hydroponics. The wastes from the fish get recycled and used by the plants for their nutritional need. The plants in turn filters the water and brings it back clean for the fish. My students will build their own model of aquaponics that is designed for different venues; an aquaponics for school, an aquaponics for home, and an aquaponics for small business. The aquaponics project will make my students and other members of the community develop their environmental literacy. These students are the investments for the future generations. They can be the environmental stewards if provided with a strong seed of inspiration.
