I believe that small group instruction is crucial in developing skills on a student's level. In order to be able to provide students with small group instruction the other students need to be engaged in hands on meaningful, and inviting activities. This school year I want to implement Science and Math Stations. I am requesting Osmos, science books, math manipulatives, and seating to create Science and Math Stations that motivates and engages my first grade students in independent learning. The Osmo is a game system that fosters social intelligence and critical thinking. The Osmo allows students to interact with an Ipad through hands-on play. It is a great way to motivate and engage the students! My students need different types of technology, reading, and manipulatives. This type of learning will help foster creative thinking and allow me to teach the students in small groups at their level.
