Through these stories, my students are learning how to recognize their feelings, name their emotions, and respond to them in appropriate and healthy ways. What once felt overwhelming or confusing for many of them has become something they can talk about with confidence and understanding.\r\n\r\nThe visual and relatable way emotions are presented has helped my students make meaningful connections. They are now able to say things like, \"I feel frustrated,\" or \"My angry spot is getting big,\" instead of acting out their emotions. We have seen growth in self-regulation, empathy for peers, and respectful communication — all because they now have the language and tools to express what's happening inside.\r\n\r\nWatching them pause, identify their feelings, and choose better responses has been one of the most rewarding shifts in our classroom community. Your books have helped create a safe space where emotions are acknowledged, understood, and managed in positive ways.\r\n\r\nThank you for creating resources that truly make a difference in students' lives. The growth we have seen in our classroom is a direct reflection of the care and intention behind your work.","fullyFundedDate":1749998698962,"projectUrl":"project/a-spot-of-opportunity-to-grow/9149560/","projectTitle":"A Spot of Opportunity to Grow","teacherDisplayName":"Coach D","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9938240_orig.png?crop=442,442,x32,y54&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741659491903","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9938240"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9481","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":593,"numTeachers":37,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":44,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 4","studentTeacherRatio":"16.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":76.5,"schoolId":9481,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about A.P.
