Six year old children wiggle...a lot. Flexible seating allows them to wiggle while they work. I am wanting to add durable seating options in my first grade classroom to increase focus and attention to task. My students struggle to sit still, remain on task and complete assignments in a timely manner. Flexible seating will help to increase and maintain focus on the task at hand. My students will have the ability to work in a position that they feel most comfortable in. This will allow them to have the sustained focus needed to complete their assignments. As adults we have learned ways to help us attain to the task at hand. For my six year old little students, they have to learn those. As their teacher I need to provide them with the tools needed to be successful. Flexible seating is one of those tools needed for my wiggly friends.
