Last year, our school started an after school Coding Club. The response was so great that the original 30 slots were immediately filled and we expanded the club to 60 students. This year, we plan to add a Robotics Club to our activities list. We will be taking the students to different competitions, including a district-wide challenge and a FIRST Lego League sponsored competition. The students will use the kits to learn how to build and design simple machines and robots. They will learn the fundamentals of programming logic and apply that knowledge to program the robots. They also get lots of experience collaborating with teams to come up with solutions to design problems. We have 1 Lego EV3 kit and 1 Lego WeDo kit for our students, but getting an extra set of each will help us expand our Robotics Club and serve more students.
