Students will use these journals to explore their passions, their hopes and dreams, and their developing understanding of the world around them. Students create their own questions and use these questions as lenses to analyze content through their journaling. These journals will give students a place to tell their stories, explore the content we learn, and process their experiences as teens in Chicago. Through journaling, students will be able to make learning their own. My students are from incredibly diverse backgrounds, and these journals will empower them to tell their stories. To own their own hardbound journal would mean the world to my students, and would revolutionize their writing experience.
