I have the privilege of teaching 21 kindergarten students at a Title One school in the Golden Isles of Georgia. Serving students from low socioeconomic backgrounds is a unique challenge. Many of my students do not have the life experiences you would expect a child to have by school age. Students from low SES homes generally struggle with language, reading, writing and math. Before I address academics directly my number one goal in teaching is to form relationships with my students and let them know that I believe in them. It is my firm belief that all students can succeed and with that notion I hold all students up to high standards. All young children, especially those from unstable home lives thrive on a schedule filled with engaging educational opportunities. The desire to provide the most positive classroom atmosphere and supply my students with materials for creative lessons drove me to set up this account.
