We just started implementing writer's workshop in our classroom, and one of the components of it is having students gather around on the rug to get a mini-lesson on writing. Currently I don't have a spot to sit while doing this lesson. This chair will allow me to be closer to them instead of standing and create a comfortable space for meeting with the students. It will also provide a more homey feeling to my classroom; we can also use it during other parts of the day as well. It could also be used as a student incentive so students can sit in it to share their writing.
