In this age of digital learning and creating there is still room for creating on paper. The availability of markers and pencil colors allows my students to show their creativity on paper. A favorite project of my students is the creation of a "monster" for our character writing. By drawing the monster first they are able to then describe what they have created in writing. We also use our supplies to create visuals for learning like maps and charts. As we begin a new year with so many unknowns, I would like to provide individual supplies for each student. In the past, we have had class supplies we shared, however, this year I want to put safety first and make sure everyone has their own supplies. If students are quarantined again this year they will have the necessary supplies to take with them. Putting safety first is important to the health and well being of my students. Therefore I have chosen some flexible seating options that will allow comfort but maintain distance. We use our laptops in my blended learning classroom and the flexible seating adds to the comfortable learning environment.
