Third graders have wonderful imaginations and love to learn through play. With these tinkering and manipulative tools, my students will be able to explore science and engineering principles through both hands-on play and more structured classroom science experiments and engineering challenges. Whether it is building a marble run with ramps, solving a problem with a Rube Goldberg-style invention, or seeing how long of a domino chain reaction they can build, these manipulative tools will bring fun into our learning. These tools will allow my students to explore the Next Generation Science Standards in an engaging, hands-on way. They will learn about physical forces and magnetism, identifying real world problems and brainstorming solutions.
