The book, "Alexander Hamilton," by Ron Chernow that has inspired the Broadway musical will now be used to inspire my students to perform in US History class. The book takes the students on an historical journey from the early years of our country prior to the French and Indian War and carries them through to the early 1820s. This part of our history is not given much attention in our textbooks. This book will be an assigned supplemental text and the students will select segments to illustrate through song and dance as the musical does. This project will help all students in my class, no matter what learning style they have, no matter what academic strengths or weaknesses, excel and comprehend the development of our country from the 1740s-1820s.
