My students come from many diverse backgrounds, some even from different neighborhoods. 30 % of my students are Hispanic and are bussed from other areas in the district. I also have a classroom of students with exceptional needs. My students are highly engaged in music-making as a tool for learning. We work hard to learn music from various cultures and use new languages in the 40 minutes I see my 500 students.
