For many years, my 7th and 8th graders have been without a strings textbook. Though we are able to get pieces for them to play, the small etudes that isolate certain techniques. The String Basics series offer excellent examples that fully prepare them for the challenging music at the high school level. A textbook with uniform examples means that everyone in the class can participate at once. Often times students can not afford to buy their own copy of the String Basics book making using these books as a full class close to impossible. If the school has a collection of these books in their library, students with financial hardships can benefit from these copies for years to come.
