Students in our school's Announcements Class display a level of responsibility that goes beyond what is required in a typical middle school class. Much like an actual business, they have to produce a product every day. Middle schoolers are notorious for not finishing assignments on time, but putting off the work is not an option for these students. They must film, edit, and publish the announcements each day regardless of any obstacles that might be thrown their way. It is a challenge that comes with great rewards. These students have the opportunity to reach every student every day. Our mission is not just to keep students and teachers informed, but to have a positive and lasting impact on the overall campus climate. My students embrace this role and strive each day to help create an environment that welcomes and embraces all students, that fosters school pride, and that values achievement in academics, athletics, and the arts.
