Approximately all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch five days a week. Playing team sports and developing a passion for athletics is often sidetracked for literacy. Due to our district's low performing reading levels, our students do not receive the state's mandate for 150 minutes of Physical Education a week. Our students are often forced to eliminate the opportunity to be active in replacement for reading and math. Being located in the most dangerous city in the United States, our young students are unable to enjoy the outside atmosphere due to the school grounds.

About my class
