The items purchased will be used for individual learning tool boxes for math and reading interventions. The use of the tool boxes is part of the Being a Reader program that my school district uses to help all students develop the foundational skills for reading and various strategies to help them to achieve individual reading levels. The math program is Pearson Success, which focuses on the applied math skills of sorting, geometry, basic numeral operations, addition, and subtraction.These individual tool boxes will be used daily for an hour while the teacher is working with small learning groups in the areas of reading and math. The materials will increase each student's confidence level with academics, their social skills will enhance by having to work with peers in small groups, and prepare them for various assessments throughout the school year.
