My students come from low income families, most who do not speak English. They do not receive the homework support that is necessary for them to fully understand the concepts taught during my student intervention sessions. Each student benefits from alternative mathematical strategies in order to succeed academically. My school is full of learning, laughter and nurturing teachers that are motivated to teach students and watch them grow and learn. I appreciate each of my student's unique academic and social strengths, and weaknesses. I utilize my didactic background in mathematics to engage my student's learning to their fullest potential. Students enjoy coming to school on a daily basis to enhance their knowledge across all content areas. My school provides a supportive, engaging and fun learning environment which allows students to look forward to coming to school. This is the first year we have grades 1-5, and are in great need of resources.
