As part of our assessment requirements, my students are required to see and respond to live theatre performances. I have chosen the powerful play, BLOOD AT THE ROOT, that focuses on a theme that many of them can relate to and hopefully allow them to dialogue about the topics of racial injustice and other injustices that impact them daily. I want them to see the importance of live theatre and how it can transform our society. This performance has the chance to do this. It covers a theme significant to their lives today and I want them to understand how art allows us to connect with others in our society.

About my class
