These materials will help my students focus, feel calm, communicate, and transition to other areas of the school while feeling secure and so much more. The body sox are for students who like to bump into things/people to get that feeling of resistance that can be used for hyperactivity, release of aggression, or as a quiet, dark escape from sensory overload. Resistance bands will be tied to the front legs of the desk so students' legs and feet can move and get input while they are sitting/listening/working at desks. Hand fidgets help some students focus on a learning task and stay calm during transition or in crowds. Bean bags are for the classroom sensory area so students can actually lay/sit in them and feel cradled; usually a safe and calming feeling. I can show parents the sensory items that work for students at school so that parents can get similar items for home use. It would be optimal if students were able to use sensory supports in every environment so they can navigate, participate, and educate in the global environment throughout life!
