As students of a Title I school, many limitations have been placed on our children by statistics and society. Students in my school often don't have access to books at home and have no desire to visit their local libraries. As their teacher, my biggest desire is to provide them with the tools to accomplish anything in life. I know literacy is the gateway to success. The donations to this project will help to improve literacy, within my classroom, by providing students with exposure to different genres of literature. It will also increase their comprehension and their love for reading. Research shows that students who read more have increased vocabulary, a more expansive imagination, growth in knowledge, and increased research skills. The books of this project have selected by my current students as high interest. With your support, we can pour into the children of our future!

About my class
