Our school has been so successful the last five years that we are now expanding to a middle school. With the addition of older students my goal is to add a Rower and Strength Station that will not only help them physically but also expose them to things they will find in a gym later in life. If students know the equipment (ie-how to use it, what muscles it works) they will be less intimidated by it and more likely to use it, helping to create a healthier adult. According to Dr. Faigenbaum, an expert in youth strength training, strength training in children seems to liberate the innate strength of the muscle, to activate the power that has been in abeyance, unused.
