Most of my students spend the summers picking grapes in the fields to help their families survive. When they come to our school, we provide a safe and encouraging atmosphere for them to leave some of those stresses behind and concentrate on their studies and their future. Our students have to be reminded daily that in order to succeed in life, they need their education. As their Art teacher, I am a blessed individual who gets to see them in a positive atmosphere, where their worries can fade away. All they need is their imagination, and guidance from me, and tools. I play classical piano music every day to create a warm and calming environment for my students to explore their creativity and reach for the stars. My art room is more than an art class; it's a place they can feel at home.
