My eager first graders are in need of a listening center and literacy learning centers to help spark their love for learning. They need a place to sit and listen to stories read to them as they follow along. The will be able to rewind and replay the story as often as they need. They need soft cushions to be able to sit on while in the listening center. The alphabet stamps, ink pads, and learning centers will be utilized in our guided reading/literacy block. Students will use the stamps to stamp out words they hear in stories, as well as words they are learning to spell. The instant learning centers will be used during our guided reading block. Students will rotate through our literacy centers each day. These different learning centers will give the students a wide variety of learning opportunities when they work on the ready made reading, writing , and phonemic awareness centers. Please help us incorporate a listening center and instant literacy centers into our first grade classroom.
