My students care about being and doing their best. My school is quite large and yet the more time you spend there, the smaller it feels. This is because everyone invests time, energy, and care into ensuring that our school is a welcoming place for all students. Our students participate in a program called Soul Shoppe that teaches them powerful life skills such as how to peacefully resolve conflicts. One of my tasks as School Counselor is to help students who need some extra support finding their place and their way at school, as well as in the world around them. In addition to working with individual students, I aim to engage all students. I recently adopted the endeavor to start a school newspaper that focuses on promoting a positive school climate and spreading good news. The kids are so excited! In fact 33 fourth graders showed up to join the newspaper club.
