Support Mrs. Schutte's classroom with a gift that fosters learning.
We are a rural school of 300 students: Pre-K through 12th grade. The district has a 58% poverty rate. Our staff is committed to reaching the needs of all learners - regular and special education. We practice Positive Behavioral Supports to encourage all students. We believe in professional development for staff and support staff. To assist some students, we have the "Kids Closet", which is a place for them to access used clothing and materials. Teachers will use their own dollars to buy students anything from new socks to used prom dresses. Our goal is for each student to be ready, be respectful, make good choices, and to be safe as they learn.
The high school special education classroom (17 students grades 9-12) houses 8 older iPads and 2 Chromebooks. Next year's 11th and 12th grade special needs students have a wide range of disabilities. Yet, each and every one of has the desire to learn and become productive adults.
