My classroom was moved from a typical classroom to the former computer lab which is not set up to be a functioning classroom. Due to budget restraints, we were not able to purchase any materials. In addition, there are no extra furniture in the building because the population is increasing drastically from year to year. My co-teacher and I are trying to make the room into a collaborative project learning room. We can pull small groups while others are working collaboratively. We have 1 rectangular table, but need 4 more to accommodate the entire class. We also lost all of our storage when we moved. Students have no place to put project and learning materials, current reading materials, and other things they will use regularly. The book cases and storage will allow some counter space to spread out, and a way to access materials for their projects and assignments.
