They are they are the HARDEST working 3rd graders you will ever see. This is their first year of taking state tests, and many of them are no longer learning to read, but reading to learn. I'm so proud of how far they have come. Our school is surrounded by corn fields in a small farming community. We are located approximately 2 hours west of Chicago, and unfortunately their small community doesn't have a lot to offer. The library in town only caters to the people who live in town. Most of the kids in my class live outside the township and have to pay for a library card. Our school motto is Small Town School, Big TIME Pride. I love my class and want them to have all the opportunities of other districts! Having access to a variety of books is just one way I can help them.
