My Pre-K classroom consists of 18 students, ranging in ages from 4-5. My students are inquisitive, eager, energetic and adventurous. Not to sound cliche, but they are walking sponges. Their curiosity both inspire and scare me at the same time. I go home each day thinking about how I can make a particular subject come to life for them. Our school is located in a high crime area, where the poverty level is sometimes just below 100 percent. School, for many of my students is the one place that provides them with a sense of security and belonging.
