80% of my class are bilingual and struggle in reading. 90% of my class are from low income families who have a very limited education themselves. I have wonderful students who want to learn but have not had the support at home because of the language barrier or the education level of their parents. At the beginning of the year 92% of my students were two or more years behind. Now because they are beginning to love the art of reading they have improved over a years growth in just five months.
