My students need Chromebooks to learn English and experience technology! My students will be able to reconnect with the countries and homes from which they left behind. They will be able to see the world, experience all that is at their fingertips, be competitive with so many other students the moment they are able to have access to the World Wide Web. The educational possibilities through using a computer are endless. The sky is the limit for my second language learners! They will be able to use Google translation to express themselves. They have a wealth of knowledge inside them, but simply don't have a grasp of the English language yet. But given the opportunity to learn to type, research, create, discover, analyze, and search the Web, my students will be able to improve their English language skills in every possible way. It is also crucial they familiarize themselves with a computer as that is how all students take standardized tests. With your generosity, my students will experience the wonders of modern technology, technology that we and our own children, take for granted. Put a computer in the hands of my English Language Learners and they will soar academically, socially, and eventually compete with all native language students!
