My students come from a variety of socioeconomic backgrounds, but all of them have the ability to become extremely successful in their future endeavors. Our school is located in an area of Missouri where poverty is very common. Unfortunately, many of my students do not have internet access at home, let alone the access to use a computer. My students become more eager and excited about learning when technology can be incorporated. They love to perform more in-depth research about a topic or research current events that can be related to our curriculum. I would describe our school as a place where student learning is maximized so students can best meet their individual potential. Each staff member is a positive role model at all times and they work to encourage a productive, safe learning environment. However, our school lacks one particular educational tool that would best prepare students for the future--technology. My students need computers to get the most out of their learning.
