I have the privilege of working in a rural community with a diverse population of 21 second grade students. My classroom consists of students living with both of their parents to students being raised by their extended family. Some of my students live in trailer parks while others live in affluent communities. My students have a variety of academic strengths and weakness and learning styles. Some of my students receive additional support in reading and math because they are below grade level while I challenge others in the classroom because they are above grade level.
