As an adapted physical education teacher my job is to adapt or modify activities to make them appropriate for my students. Having modified equipment helps me adapt to meet my students needs for safety and developmental needs. My students will have greater success if they have access to fitness across all abilities. The materials I have chosen include sensory obstacle courses and lots of modified sports equipment. These materials will benefit students by developing fundamental motor skills, enhancing self-esteem, improving coordination, while working to make the activities fun and cognitively stimulating.
