Students will be using the materials requested in the library's new Makerspace area to CREATE! The materials will be used directly by the students as they wish. The Makerspace and the materials will build a culture of learning and discovery, by inventing, exploring, tinkering. Students will be able to be curious, research and create, whether it be a Lego map or a pyramid out of popsicle sticks, the possibilities are endless. Students will be able to produce art or information given the materials on hand. We already have a few computers and a green screen to use, but with building supplies and more creating materials students will have more options. Students will be able to invent, tinker, explore and discover with a variety of materials. The library will serve as a place where students can gather and share ideas whether it be from a book, technology or a creation. It is a place where students and families can feel welcome. The Makerspace materials will spark the hearts and minds of all students.
