With these books, students without a dependable Internet connection will read at home when hybrid learning is necessary for student health and safety. Many of my most at-risk readers do not have their own books, and their guardians cannot purchase books for them. Owning a book to read is not the norm for students from disadvantaged families. At the end of the year, some students will want to donate their copies to the classroom library for future students to enjoy. Other students will develop an attachment to the characters, feel ownership, and become more vested in their reading experience.
