The students of my school are from Pre-K through 6th grade. They are inner city students who have chosen our school because their parents have made a commitment to keep their children in and environment that is committed to developing not just their minds, but also making and attempt to mold and develop character as well. We are in a situation where the majority of our students are in a high-need category and we are committed to literacy for all students at our institution. We service over 1,300 students and from our inner-city community. I am a Physical Education Teacher at my school and like all "Specialty Teachers" (Music, Art, Dance, and Physical Education)I consider it a blessing and a minor miracle to still have an opportunity to work with my students. Though the Specialty Department at my school has suffered financial cuts, we have not lost any Teaching positions within our Specialty Department.
