The fifth graders at our low income school deserve to have efficient writing utensils to help them perform at their best. We work in a Title One Renaissance school which means almost all of our students receive free or reduced rate lunches. 60 percent of the students in our class speak another language at home and have difficulty translating to English while at school. Twenty percent of our students are identified with learning disabilities. Thirty-five percent are identified to have speech and language goals. One hundred percent of our students are willing and eager to learn. Zero percent deserve to struggle through the day with a dull pencil.
