Hello! I am a public school teacher in rural Oklahoma. I teach high school English and high school theatre. Our theatre department competes with the OSSAA and goes up against schools that are much more well-funded than we are, so I am always looking for ways to give us a more creative edge on our projects. Reading is a passion of mine, and that is why I love teaching English. However, I think the stuff in our textbooks is what makes students hate reading. They need to read texts that are intrinsic and relevant to them. I try to find novels that have great literary merit but are also current and will hold my students' attention. Whatever way you can help me mold these kids and prepare them for the wonderful future they have ahead of them, I am so grateful for!
