I am asking for donations for shoe box size containers and manipulative's for my students to use upon entering the classroom in the mornings. As they come in each day, I will have the boxes at their seats. Each student will have their own box and each table will have the same items. I will rotate the boxes daily so that each table gets an opportunity to use each item. I choose a variety of manipulatives to enhance different skills. Learning Lacers will help them with making patterns. The Hear Myself Phone will enable the children to hear words they are saying so that they can decipher different sounds. Gumball grabbers and tweezer tongs, as well as the Learning Lacers, will help with fine motor skills while the students are playing. By incorporating the manipulative's I have selected, they will not only learn letter and number recognition but also patterns and finger grip. This will provide my students with correct penmanship as we begin to write and also give them a fun start to the school day!
