I will be teaching 3rd grade math to about 30 students this year. Our class will hold a wide diversity of skills in the subject of math. During our math class students will be encouraged to collaborate on math problems with their peers. The use of whiteboard tables will enhance their learning and experience in not only math class, but on how to interact with their classmates in a positive, facilitated environment. During this last school year I purchased many garage sale tables and applied a DIY whiteboard surface. This year proved that the use of these type of tables can increase engagement and motivation. However, the DIY process has not proved to hold through the wear and tear of 8 year olds. It is time for an upgrade!
