Our students are grades 5-8 in Spirit Lake, Iowa (Northwest corner of IA). As a district we have committed to undertaking initiatives that will lead to 21st century learners. Currently we have many students who are comfortable in a traditional model of schooling where failure is not an acceptable option. We are attempting to change the culture of our school by allowing our students opportunities to design, create, and investigate while not being motivated by the almighty "A." We live in a growing community with industries who are looking for workers who can collaborate, communicate, think critically, and create.

About my class
