My students will use new seating options to help increase focus and decrease distracted behaviors. Desks are not suitable or conducive for every student. These options will also help students to develop a sense of responsibility where they are able to pick their own seat based on what will be the best for their learning on that given day for a specific task. Students will have a wide variety of seating options including traditional desks, a wobble cushion on the floor, working at a standing desk, a bean bag chair, or creating their own space for success. Allowing students the choice of seating will help with behavior issues stemming from bored students who are forced to sit in one spot for an extended period of time. Students will also have a variety of materials to help them find the best place for their learning. The clipboards will be used to allow students to sit and work wherever in the room. The caster wheels will be used to take some furniture and make it more mobile. This can be used to create a quiet spot for students, or even make more surfaces to conduct science experiments. The bicycle desks will be useful to allow energetic students a healthy way to release some of their energy. They will be able to pedal away while still engaged in the learning at hand.
