The items that I am requesting are going to help me to provide an engaging and comfortable area for my students to slip away from the routine of the school day a bit and relax while they are reading. I am trying to build a reading nook where the students will beg to go to. This will build their desire to read independently and I want to set this space up in my classroom. I teach at a Title One school where many of my students don't have the supplies at home, nor do they have the opportunity to get them. I am hoping to grow young readers which will, in turn, help them achieve greater success in all areas of their lives. A good book will take them places they may have never even imagined they could go!
