My students come from a low-income neighborhood where the luxury of school supplies is difficult. When students have all their school supplies they can complete their schoolwork. They will not have barriers getting started or lack of creativity because they will have everything necessary. I also like my students to have the same brand of supplies so they feel like they aren't competing with their classmates. I am asking for the basic school supplies like pencils, crayons, scissors and glue so the students will be prepared the first day of school. I want to have the most positive experience occurring in my room by eliminating all the distractions. If I can take the distraction of school supplies out of the equation then I can focus more on Academics!
