As my students come from very diverse backgrounds, we will be conducting research about Hispanic countries for Hispanic Heritage Month. This project will help build acceptance of different cultures. Each student is assigned a country to research and present to the entire class. As students conduct their research, they will need to provide illustrations of maps, foods, and the weather. If this project gets funds, my students will be able to research their countries, find images to provide visuals that go along with their research, and print them out in color right from the convenience of our classroom! Their project will come to live with colorful images! After presentations are completed, every student's report will be displayed on our hallway bulletin board for everyone to see their hard work! We are a blended learning school that incorporates the use of technology daily. 1st graders have proven that conducting research is doable and fun!
