Every day, nineteen six year olds walk into my classroom ready to learn new concepts and skills. These students come from low income families, but I do not let this act as a barrier to their learning, instead choose to embrace their curiosity, creativity, and love of learning. As a teacher, I try to bring fresh ideas into the classroom on a regular basis. Our school is part of a large district but is the smallest and often forgotten about because it is in a completely different town as the high school and other elementaries. We are over 50% free and reduced lunch and a Title I school. We truly feel that our students deserve the most even though some of the students have the least.
