Global communications Academy is an International Baccalaureate elementary school located in Hartford Ct. The school serves the whole city and the children are admitted by lottery. Our mission is to prepare all of our children K-12 for College with a strong post secondary focus and rigorous curriculum starting in Kindergarten. The children are selected to attend our school through a city wide lottery and we are considered an all city school and not a magnet. Many of our children are living below the poverty line and 100 percent of our children receive free breakfast and lunch. Many of the children enter school without having the benefit of preschool, however with nurturing and interventions they are successful. With limited budgets and a small staff it is often difficult to provide all of the materials and supports that the children need. Despite this they are eager to learn and are successful.
